Four suspects detained ahead of PM's visit in Udhampur

Jammu, Mar 24: Four suspects were detained ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit scheduled for April 2, to inaugurate Asia's longest Chenani-Nashri tunnel in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Security has been beefed up and joint patrolling is being conducted by security forces and Army along the highway in Udhampur district," police sources here today said. They said that as part of ongoing search operations, yesterday four suspects were detained from Narsu nullah close to Chenani.

"The suspects were immediately rounded up and detained," they added. "The detained suspects were questioned but released this morning," S K Mishra, SSP Udhampur here told UNI.

He added that nothing suspicious was found from them during questioning but the matter is under investigation. The Prime Minister after inaugurating the Chenani-Nashri tunnel will also address a public rally in Udhampur on April 2.
