4 houses gutted in fire in temple in Kishtwar

Jammu, Mar 1 : Four houses were gutted in a fire that broke out today in a temple in remote area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"A fire broke out late last night in a temple in Chingam village of Dangar Nullah, Tehsil Chatroo on Sinthan-Kishtwar Road," a senior police officer here said.
He said that the fire gradually spread to the nearby houses.
"Four houses, including that of two siblings, was gutted in the fire," he said, adding that locals, police and the Army rushed to the spot and controlled the fire from spreading across the village having a Hindu population in nearly 50 houses.
"Sacred light inside the temple is believed to be the reason of fire," he added.
