Srinagar receives fresh snowfall

Srinagar, Jan 22: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, turned white again due to fresh snowfall early this morning though the level of chill has eased.
Meanwhile, this January so far recorded highest snowfall during the past one decade and is heading to break the record of about 30 years, Director Meteorological department Sonam Lotus said here this morning.
Roof and tree tops besides roads and open fields had turned white again as people woke up this morning in Srinagar and adjoining areas. There was however, still snow on majority roof tops besides on both sides of roads, including Srinagar-Airport road.
