Members call for streamlining power scenario; Raise other issues of public importance in LA

JAMMU, JAN 21: Several members today raised various issues of public importance in the Legislative Assembly seeking immediate attention of the Government on the same.
Legislators Vikar Rasool Wani, Usman Abdul Majid, Javed Ahmad Rana, Asgar Ali Karbalie, Choudhary Sukhnandan Kumar, Aijaz Ahmad Mir, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Abdul Rashid Dar, Javid Hassan Baig and Sheikh Ishfaq Jabar raised the issue of unscheduled power cuts in their respective constituencies and urged the government to streamline the electricity supply.
Sat Paul Sharma stressed the need for urgent upgradation and renovation of roads in some vulnerable areas of the State. He said R&B Department should give focused attention towards early repair of the roads I vulnerable areas to avoid recurrent accidents.
M Y Tarigami asked for government intervention to resolve the concerns of the employees of the Industries Department currently on strike in Kalakote.
GM Saroori demanded for early opening of Nashri tunnel to streamline the traffic on national highway for the convenience of the people and to minimize traffic jams on the highway.
Abdul Rahim Rather raised the issue of frequent traffic snarls demanding for construction of tunnel at Vailoo, which would connect Kishtwar with the Kashmir valley.
Er Abdul Rashid raised the urgent concern regarding detention of 14 year old boy at Kot-Bhalwal Jammu and asked for government intervention for same.
