Dy. Speaker orders suspension of Engineer Rashid’s; revoke it later

Jammu, Jan 21: The chairman of Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) and Independent legislator from Kashmir, Er Rasheed was suspended from Jammu and Kashmir legislature for “creating disruptions” early this morning during the house proceedings.

For causing disruption of house proceedings repeatedly during zero hour, the Deputy Speaker Naseer Gurezi instructed marshals to push out Independent MLA Engineer Rashid from Assembly for two days.

As per reports, Earlier, Rasheed had taken a dig at the government over the slapping of Public Safety Act (PSA) on a 86-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy Sahil Ahmad lodged in Kotbalwal Jail in Jammu.

However, later the suspension order revoked after Javed Mustafa Mir requests Speaker Kavinder Gupta to review the decision.
