Awareness cum cheque distribution camp held at Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, JANUARY 19: Awareness cum cheque distribution camp organized by Urban Development Agency Kashmir (UDAK) was held today at Ganderbal.
The camp was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganai in which cheques amounting to Rs 10,000 each were distributed among 18 Self Help Groups having completed eligible period, besides 51 Street Vendors identified by UDAK were provided Identity Cards for which a street vending plan will be formulated in consultation with all concerned line departments
The Deputy Commissioner, asked the beneficiaries of Self Help Group to continue the group savings and Stand on their own feet besides become job provider instead of job seeker.
On the occasion, Chief Executive Officer, Rashida Akhter, Assistant Project Officer, Mission Manager Lead Bank Manager, Lead District Officer and FLCC facilitator educated the people of low income group about the various components of National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM). They also highlighted various government sponsored schemes like PMSBY, JJY, Atal Pension Yojna and ask people to take benefit from them.
