DC Pulwama inspects snow clearance measures; Takes stock of essentials

PULWAMA, JANUARY 18: In order to ensure adequate supply of essentials in the district, besides to inspect ongoing snow clearance measures, the Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, Muneer-ul-Islam on Wednesday inspected various areas of the district.
Accompanied by the officers of various departments, the DC took stock of snow clearance measures undertaken at various places in Tral town and Litter Tehsil of the district. He also reviews the stock and supply position of essential commodities and availability of medicines, besides supply of power and drinking water in these areas.
The Deputy Commissioner was informed that snow has been cleared from most of the main roads by the Mechanical Engineering Department and almost 70 percent inner links have been cleared by the R&B Department.
On the occasion, DC directed the officials of Mechanical engineering, R&B, PMGSY and Municipal Committee to fully gear up the men and machinery to clear all remaining roads till evening. He also instructed the engineers of PHE and PDD to ensure supply of clean water and electricity so that people do not face any inconvenience.
Meanwhile, the DC inspected various government offices and checked the attendance of officials. He stressed the officers to work in close coordination with line Departments and directed for round the clock functioning of the established Control to ensure all possible held to the public in wake of inclement weather
Later the Deputy Commissioner along with SDM visited SDH Hospital Tral and inspected various wards. He interacted with the patients, attendants and hospital administration and enquired about the facilities available in the hospital. He directed for ensuing heating arrangements, free medicines and other facilities in the hospital so that patients do not face any problem.
