Two accused arrested with one kg gold jewelry

Samba: The district police arrested two persons for illegally carrying one kg of gold ornaments. He did not have any bill in this regard. Police have registered a case and started interrogation of both.
According to the police, both the people were caught on the basis of a specific information. Both were leaving by car. Police stopped them in Samba and searched the vehicle and recovered one kg of 180 grams of gold ornaments. It is being told that they were about to give it to a trader in the Jain market of Jammu.
They had fake bills for these jewellery. In such a situation, the police arrested both of them. Later a team of State Tax Department came to the spot. According to him, the tax on seized jewelery is Rs 3,23,700. In this regard, GST Enforcement Inspector Samba GP Singh said that the bills which were with both the people were found to be fake. They can take the gold only after paying the tax.
