Two pilots injured in Army Helicopter crash in J&K's Udhampur

Jammu, Sep 21 Two pilots were injuries when an Army helicopter crashed on Tuesday in the woods of Patnitop Hills in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said two pilots were critically injured in a helicopter crash in Shiv Garh Dhar area of Patnitop.

"The pilots were evacuated by locals and rushed to a hospital," they said.

Police said after receiving the information, a team was dispatched to the area.

They said there was foggy weather in the area and the helicopter could have crashed due to poor visibility.

Indu Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, told, "As per initial reports, the helicopter made a precautionary landing but we are verifying the facts. We cannot confirm if the chopper crashed.'

Meanwhile Deputy Inspector General of Police (Udhampur-Reasi) Suleman Chowdhary told

"Due to excess fog in the area it is not clear whether it was a crash or crash landing by the helicopter.'

On August 3, an Army chopper crashed into the Ranjit Sagar Lake in Basholi area of Kathua district in which two pilots were killed and the body of one of them was recovered.
