Youth killed, another injured in Baramulla hit and run accident

Srinagar, May 11: A 24-year-old youth was killed and another person was injured in a hit and run road accident in north Kashmir district of Baramulla on Tuesday.

Official sources said that a speeding tipper hit a Maruti 800 vehicle near Wussan Kunzer in Baramulla, resulting in critical injuries to two persons on Tuesday. The injured were immediately rushed to a local hospital, where one of them identified as Irshad Ahmad Ahanger, succumbed.

They said the health condition of another injured person, identified as Maqsood Ahmad, is stated to be critical.

'The tipper driver escaped from the spot,' they said, adding a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up to identify and nab the accused driver.

'After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites,' they added.
