DDC inaugurates newly constructed rotary at Udhampur

‘Effective steps taken for traffic decongestion’

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 26: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Piyush Singla today inaugurated the newly constructed Rotary here at Omara Morh and one way passage at Venus Chowk in presence of President Municipal Council, Dr Jogeshwar Gupta.
While interacting with locals, the DDC said that District Administration is committed to beautify and ensure hassle free traffic movement in the town. In this connection several initiatives have been taken by the District Administration in coordination with Municipal Council Udhampur, he added. “During my City tour three spots viz MH Chowk, Omara Chowk and Venus Chowk were observed where traffic congestion was a routine and people used to suffer and their time gets wasted in traffic jam and after consultation with elected representatives of MCU, Technical teams necessary improvements in the existing roads were made which will facilitate the hassle free movement of the traffic on these spots: he said. He asked people to desist from wrong parking of vehicles which chokes the movement of commuters and vehicles in the city area. He further appreciated the efforts of Municipal Council Udhampur and R&B department for completion of these works in a record time.
Councilors, Xen PWD, Girdhari Lal, CEO MC Sanjeev Gandotra and other officers/officials of concerned departments besides prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
