J&K police seizes 300 litres of subsidised kerosene oil in Badgam

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police seized 300 litres of subsidised kerosene oil in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, a police Spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The accused was identified as Ghulam Mohammad Wani, a resident of Panchagund Beerewah.

He further said that on a tip off, a police party from Police Station (PS) Beerwah, intercepted a vehicle at Sonapah, Beerewah Badgam.

During the checking of the vehicle 300 litres of kerosene oil in eight cans were recovered.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of law.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused was involved in illegal trade of subsidised Kerosene oil.

Source of procurement of subsidised Kerosene oil was also being investigated and the individuals involved in facilitating black marketing shall also be dealt as per law, he added.
