Srinagar, Sep 12: Jammu and Kashmir police has established a full-fledged Public Facilitation Centre (PFC) where people from Srinagar District can get information about all police verifications, a police spokesman said.

He said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Srinagar, Dr M Haseeb Mughal inaugurated PFC for all Police Verifications in the District Police Office (DPO) complex Shergarhi Srinagar on Friday.

The concept of having a PFC at DPO Srinagar is an initiative of SSP to help people at a time when there is lockdown due to COVID-19 lockdown. He said due to COVID-19 restrictions it was almost impossible for some elderly applicants to enquire about the status of their various types of verifications. He further said that due to COVID-19 various public offices were made out of bound for general public.

He said the idea took shape into a full-fledged PFC just a few steps after entering DPO Srinagar and the centre has been given a public friendly interface.

On the occasion, SSP Mughal briefed the staff of PFC to work with zeal and zest in order to facilitate
general public in addressing all types of queries regarding verification for government service, Passport, Hajj, Character, Contract, Army verifications.

He said the aim of the facility is to move further towards lessening the burden of general public who otherwise had to knock many doors for getting these facilities. Now they will be provided all services under single roof in time bound manner.
