"Chhari Pujan" performed with great zeal and religious fervour at Dashnami Akhara Poonch.

The holy mace received warm reception at Buddha Amarnath shrine

Jammu: The historic Chhari yatra was taken out with great pomp and religious fervour from Dashnami Akhara here today.This year the yatra witnessed very few devotees, sadhus due to prevailing situation of COVID-19 pandemic.The Chhari yatra was commenced with Chhari Puran in early morning by chanting different mantras and bhajans at akhara mandir by His Holiness Atal Pithadishwar Rajguru Acharya Mahamandleshwar Shri Shri 1008 Shri Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati ji Maharaj, the head priest of the Dashnami Akhara, and then proceeded towards Budha Amarnath temple accompanied by some devotees.

The Yatra left for Baba Budha Amarnath early this morning followed by guard of honour to Chhari Mubarak, the holy mace, in front gate of dashnami akhara and then the yatra proceeded by Shri Swami ji towards Shri Budha Amarnath accompanied by very few pilgrims chanting Har Har Mahadev, Bam Bam Bhole amid tight security.The Chaari Yatra was welcomed at Buddha Amarnath shrine by committee members followed by Chahari pujan in the temple. 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Swamiji said that due to Covid-19 the holy chhari was taken out with proper instructions given by local administration and all our functions were performed by maintaining strict social distancing norms.Swamiji thanked everyone for their cooperation in the yatra and appealed to the residents of the areas to follow the social distancing norms and also to go along with guidelines issued by the local administration as well as central government from time to time to fight against Covid-19.He further said that we have to fight with this with the active cooperation of each other.
