Another youth drowns in Ganderbal in central Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 9 : A teenager youth, third since Sunday, drowned in a water body in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal on Wednesday evening, official sources said onThursday.
They said a 17-year-old youth identified as Sadaqat Ahmed son of Gulzar Ahmed Tandoli, a resident of Kangan suddenly slipped and fell into power canal at Wudder in Ganderbal Wednesday evening. However, people present in the area immediately jumped into the canal but could not save Sadaqat, they said.
A massive search operation was launched by locals and police. However, the rescue operation was suspended last night and resumed with the first light this morning.
Meanwhile, authorities have diverted the water of the canal to retrieve the body of Sadaqat, they said.
On Sunday two youths identified as Rashid Khan and Zahid Farooq from Srinagar down town drowned into river Sindh. Body of one of the youth was recovered on Monday and second on Wednesday.
