Body of missing driver recovered from Jhelum in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Jul 7 Body of a 37-year-old driver, who was reportedly missing from last three days, was recovered from river Jhelum in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Tuesday.
Official sources said that panic gripped Pampore when some people saw body of a man floating in Jhelum while they were extracting sand from the river on Tuesday. “The locals immediately informed the police,” they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was fished out from the river.
They said the deceased was later identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Rather, a resident of Pulwama. “Rather was reportedly missing from last three days,” they said.
They said after completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his relatives for last rites. “Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added.
