Excise department destroys illicit poppy crops in Kashmir

SRINAGAR, MAY 20: Excise enforcement teams on Wednesday destroyed illicit poppy crop spread over a total of 187 kanals of land in Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian, Bandipora, Baramulla and Budgam areas.
The teams were headed by Excise & Taxation Officer South Kashmir, Excise & Taxation officer North Kashmir and Excise and Taxation Officer Central Kashmir.
In the statement Dy. Excise Commissioner Kashmir, said that the department has destroyed illicit poppy crop spread over 833 kanals of land, so for during this cultivation season.
The officer said the drive shall continue till all illicit poppy crops in Kashmir is destroyed
