Gupta reviews Energy Efficient LED Street Light project for Srinagar, Jammu MC's

Asks to expedite installation of street lights in twin cities

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 26- Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development, Dheeraj Gupta, today chaired a meeting to review implementation of Energy Efficient LED Street Light project in Srinagar and Jammu Municipal Corporations (MCs) at Civil Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC, Avny Lavasa; Secretary (Technical) PDD, Bashir Ahmad, Executive Director, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd, S.P Garnaik and other officials of the concerned department while as Commissioner SMC participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
Principal Secretary directed the officials to expedite all the works with respect to installation of street lights in twin cities of Srinagar and Jammu. He also impressed upon the officials to install luminary lights at heritage across these cities on priority basis.
Underscoring the need of energy saving, Dheeraj Gupta stressed upon the officials to explore the options of installing solar roof-tops on all the government buildings besides government colleges and schools.
Principal Secretary also directed the officials to expedite the working of installing e-charging stations at parking places across Jammu and Srinagar as well as both wings of Civil Secretariat through proper mechanism.
Principal Secretary exhorted upon the officials to complete this project within the stipulated time frame so that the people will take benefit of the same.
