J&K Police force has successfully faced uphill tasks: MoS Home

JKP is ready to fight and face any challenge: DGP


Srinagar, 23 January: Minister of State Home Shri G. K. Reddy visited Police Training School Manigam last evening. During his visit MoS Home addressed the darbar of officers, jawans and trainees. He was accompanied by the Advisor to the Hon’ble Lt Governor J&K Shri R. R. Bhatnagar and the Director-General of Police Shri Dilbag Singh. On his arrival, the visiting dignitary was given a ceremonial guard of honour.
Shri G. K. Reddy while addressing the Police officers, personnel and trainees and staff of the PTS Manigam said that he is feeling blessed after coming here. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has bravely fought and foiled nefarious designs of the neighbouring country since 1947 and added that J&K Police force has faced successfully uphill tasks during the past 70 years. Complimenting the JKP he said that Jammu Kashmir Police has overcame the challenges of law and order situations, crime prevention/ investigation, VVIP security arrangements, and has been on forefront anti-militancy operations. Besides, having excellent synergy and coordination with the Army, and CAPF.
MoS Home said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has many more challenges ahead and terrorism is one of the major challenges. He said that the Police force of Jammu and Kashmir has made many sacrifices and the whole country and the Central Government is proud of this brave Police force. He assured that the problems faced by the Jammu and Kashmir Police will be resolved as soon as possible by the Central Government.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar Advisor to the Hon’ble Lt Governor J&K lauded Jammu and Kashmir Police for maintaining peace in the region particularly after Aug 5 2019. “I have seen the bravery of J&K Police during the anti-militancy operations and feel delighted after coming to PTS Manigam”, Shri Bhatnagar said. He added that services provided by the J&K Police during Amarnath Yatra 2019 were exemplary. He said that all facilities will be provided to the Police force including allowances and other benefits.
The Director-General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh thanked MoS Home Shri G. K. Reddy for taking time from the busy schedule to interact with the JK Police personnel. The DGP said that JKP is ready to fight and face any challenge. He said that the personnel in khaki have displayed best character after the abrogation of Art 370 on Aug 5 situation and added that they proved their best in maintaining law and order. The DGP added that no civilian lost his/her life during this difficult period of time, which shows the character of J&K Police.
He said that during the last 30 years J&K Police has sacrificed more than 1700 officers/Jawans for the sovereignty & integrity of the country.
The DGP impressed upon the Police personnel that they should abide by the laws and must respect the law of land, but take serious action against the lawbreakers as they are the enemies of our country and of the society.
