Committees to monitor snow clearances, restoration of essential services

BARAMULLA, JANUARY 20: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today convened a meeting of officers to constitute Monitoring Committees at Sub-division and Tehsil level with the mandate to monitor the snow clearance measures and restoration of essential services in the district.
The meeting was informed that the committees at the Sub divisional level willbe headed by the concerned ADC and SDM while at Tehsil level it will be chaired by concerned Tehsildar.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC asked the nominated officers to work in coordination so that the people may not face any inconvenience. He also directed to put in place a viable mechanism with regard to the snow clearance by mobilize men and machinery.
Meanwhile, it was informed that round the clock control rooms have been established at Sub-division and Tehsil levels where people can register their complaints and grievances.
SE PDD, ACR, SDMs, EXNs of PDD, PHE and other line departments, Tehsildars other concerned officers attended the meeting.
Later, the DC chaired a separate meeting of concerned SDMs, Tehsildars and other executive magistrates to discuss various measures with regard to timely restoration of essential services.
The DC directed the magistrates to intensify market checking to curb the menace of profiteering, hoarding and black marketing in the district.
