Jammu: Amid rising political chatter over the perceived exclusion of Jammu & Kashmir’s newly elected Chief Minister from key security and administrative meetings, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has broken his silence, asserting that his relationship with the CM remains “cordial” and guided strictly by constitutional boundaries.
The comments come in the backdrop of criticism from opposition leaders, who questioned why the Chief Minister was not present in the recent high-level review meeting on security in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
The meeting was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and attended by top officials from various security agencies.
Responding to these allegations during a televised interview, LG Sinha stated firmly:
“What people say is not my job to respond to. State reorganization has been enacted by the Parliament of India. In the Reorganization Act, everyone’s rights and roles have been clearly defined. I want to say with responsibility that I never overstep my legal authority,” LG said during an interview with national Channel.
He further dismissed the notion that the Chief Minister was being sidelined deliberately, saying:
“There is no domain where he should be involved and I do not invite him. No one can establish such a notion.”
Sinha clarified that while Jammu & Kashmir is now a Union Territory with a unique administrative structure, there is no lack of communication between him and the Chief Minister.
