Srinagar: In a significant security push, Director General of CRPF G P Singh and DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, along with other senior officers, conducted a thorough review of the security arrangements and facilities for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
CRPF DG Singh visited camps at Qazigund and Mirbazar in south Kashmir, inspecting the readiness of deployed personnel and logistics. En route to the Valley, he also assessed the security preparedness at multiple points along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway.
“During his journey along the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra route from Jammu to Srinagar, DG CRPF Shri G P Singh reviewed the security preparedness firsthand,” the CRPF stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The DG interacted with officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) at Ramban, focusing on coordination within the multi-agency security grid. He also held discussions with security officials at Kali Mata Mandir, Tekri, to evaluate ground-level arrangements.
Simultaneously, DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, accompanied by IGP Kashmir, DIG Central Kashmir Range, and other senior officials, conducted a detailed security review along the Baltal axis—one of the key routes of the Yatra.
The senior police officers also inspected pilgrim facilities and security deployments at key Yatra locations including Shadipora, Manigam, and the Baltal base camp, ensuring that both safety and logistical needs of the devotees are being met effectively.
The coordinated visits underline the administration’s commitment to a secure and seamless pilgrimage experience for thousands of devotees participating in the annual spiritual journey to the 3,880-metre-high Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir.
