SEPT 8: One terrorist has been neutralized and security personnel sustained injuries in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists in Kulgam.
As per the reports, one terrorist was eliminated and junior commissioned officer suffered injuries in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists at Guddar forest in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Following the specific intellegence inputs by Jammu and Kashmir Police, a joint search operation was launched by Indian Army, J&K Police, CRPF Sriangar in Guddar forest of Kulgam.
It is learnt that vigilant troops observed a suspicious movement and upon being challenged, terrorists fired upon, prompting the exchange of gunfire.
In the course of this, one terrorist was gunned down and a junior commissioned officer sustained injuries. Operation is underway.
Chinar Corps posted on X, “OP GUDDAR, Kulgam Based on specific intelligence input by JKP, joint search operation was launched by Indian Army, J&K Police, CRPF Sriangar in Guddar forest of Kulgam. Vigilant troops observed suspicious activity and upon being challenged, terrorists opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire during which one terrorist has been eliminated and a junior commissioned officer suffered injuries. Operation is in progress.”
