SEPT 20: Army personnel succumbed to injuries in an encounter that raged in higher reaches of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Army and J&K Police have resumed the joint hunt for terrorists in remote forest areas in the higher reaches of Udhampur.
It is learnt that the Soldier was injured late Friday evening when terrorists fired upon the joint search party of the Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of J&K Police at the Seoj Dhar forest border in Dudu-Basantgarh area of Udhampur and Doda.
The area has been cordoned and the hunt operation for the terrorists have been launched. Notably, two to three terrorists are believed to be hiding in the forest.
Security has been beefed up, cutting-edge drones have been mobilized along with sniffer dogs from both Udhampur and Doda and search operation is in full swing.
Besides, no fresh contact has been established with terrorists as of now.
