MAY 22: One soldier makes the supreme sacrifice in ongoing Kishtwar encounter.
As per post by White Knight Corps on X, “During the ongoing operation, fierce gunfight is continuing. One of our braveheart sustained grievous injuries in the exchange of fire and has succumbed despite best medical efforts. Operation is in progress.”
Earlier in the morning the encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Chatroo area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Following the tip-off presence of terrorists in the area, a joint team of J&K Police, Paramilitary Forces and Army engaged in gunfight with terrorists.
The encounter is still underway.
Pertinent to mention, following Operation Sindoor, two encounters broke out between security forces and terrorists in Shopian nad Awantipora wherein six terrorists were killed.
