Jammu: A ruckus broke out in the office of Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar after a 33-year-old woman began screaming and was later admitted to SMHS Hospital for treatment.
According to official sources, the woman identified as Priya Mishra, resident of Delhi, had gone to Choudhary’s office at the Civil Secretariat for meeting, during which she reportedly raised certain issues.
While in the office, she began recording a video on her mobile phone, which was noticed and objected to by Choudhary and several MLAs present in the room.
The situation escalated after the woman reportedly got into a verbal altercation with MLA Shakti Parihar.
She then began filming the exchange, further aggravating tensions. Her act of recording was strongly opposed by multiple legislators, including the Deputy Chief Minister himself.
Sources within the Civil Secretariat told The News Now that upon hearing the woman scream, staff members including woman constables rushed into the Deputy Chief Minister’s chamber.
They asked Mishra to leave but she refused, leading to further heated arguments and a minor brawl, they said.
The woman claimed she had sustained an injury and was immediately taken to SMHS Hospital for medical attention. Her condition is currently being monitored, and further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, The News Now attempted to reach Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and MLA Shakti Parihar for their comments, but both leaders were unavailable, with their mobile phones switched off.
