₹40.46 Cr sanctioned for development of Hazratbal Shrine

SRINAGAR: The Central government has allocated ₹560.04 crore to Jammu and Kashmir under tourism sector schemes over the past five years, as detailed in a Lok Sabha reply by Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on March 10, 2025.
The funds were distributed under the Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD schemes, aimed at developing tourism infrastructure.
Replying to a question raised by Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad over the details of funds allocated under the tourism sector during the last five years in Jammu and Kashmir; and the details of the schemes for which funds were released.
The Minister of Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat informed the Ministry of Tourism under the schemes of ‘Swadesh Darshan’ and ‘National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD)’ provides financial assistance to State Governments/Union Territory Administrations for the development of tourism-related infrastructure and facilities at various tourism destinations in the country.
The minister informed that under Himalayan Circuit 2016-17 Rs 77.33 Cr has been sanctioned for development of Jammu-SrinagarPahalgam-Bhagwati NagarAnantnag-Salamabad Uri-Kargil-Leh. under Himalayan Circuit 2016-17, ₹81.60 Cr has been sanctioned for development of Tourist Facilities at Jammu-Rajouri-Shopian-Pulwama.
Under Himalayan Circuit 2016-17, ₹90.43 Cr has been sanctioned for Construction of Assets in lieu of those Destroyed in 2014 Floods under PM Development Package.
Under Himalayan Circuit 2016-17, ₹91.99 Cr has been sanctioned for the development of Tourist Facilities at Mantalai and Sudhmahadev. under Himalayan Circuit 2016-17, ₹86.39 Cr has been sanctioned for the development of Tourist Facilities at Anantnag-Pulwama-Kishtwar-Pahalgam-ZanskarPadum-Daksum-Ranjit Sagar Dam.
Under Himalayan Circuit 2016-17, ₹91.84 Cr has been sanctioned for the development of Tourist Facilities at Gulmarg-Baramulla-Kargil-Leh.
Under the PRASHAD Scheme 2016-17, ₹40.46 Cr has been sanctioned for the development of Hazratbal Shrine, Srinagar.
