New Delhi, September 10: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named Umer Un Nabi, who died in the November 2025 Red Fort blast, as the alleged mastermind and operational head of a revived Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH) terror module.
According to the chargesheet, Nabi had been working since early 2022 to revive the dormant network and recruit radicalised individuals for terror activities. The agency alleges that he organised secret meetings, facilitated training, arranged funds and weapons, and managed other logistics.
The NIA has also alleged that the group used encrypted communication platforms and circulated extremist literature promoting violence and armed struggle.
Investigators said chemicals and laboratory equipment were recovered during the probe, while forensic examination detected traces of TATP and ammonium nitrate.
The agency alleges that the car used in the November 10, 2025 blast near the Red Fort had been converted into a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).
The explosion at around 6:50 pm killed 11 people and injured 29 others. Since Nabi died in the blast, proceedings against him have been abated. The allegations in the chargesheet remain subject to trial and judicial scrutiny.
