Poonch: In a decisive action against terror networks operating from across the border, the Jammu & Kashmir Police have attached immovable property belonging to a terrorist affiliated with the banned outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The action was carried out under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with FIR No. 177/2024 registered at Police Station Mendhar.
The property—measuring 1 Kanal and 11 Marlas of agricultural land—is situated in the Kasblari area of Tehsil Mankote, District Poonch. It is owned by Mohammad Riyaz, son of Sain, a local resident currently operating as a Pakistan-based handler for LeT. Riyaz is wanted in multiple terror-related cases.
The attachment was executed by a joint team comprising Mendhar Police and Revenue Department officials, following due verification, legal documentation, and approval from the competent authority. This move is part of a broader strategy to disrupt the financial and logistical ecosystem that supports terrorism.
This significant step underscores the unwavering commitment of Poonch Police to act tough against individuals falling under the purview of UAPA and reinforces ongoing efforts to safeguard public safety and national security.
