Jammu: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, President Droupadi Murmu conferred the prestigious National Teacher Award 2025 on 45 educators across the country, including Jammu and Kashmir’s Kuldeep Gupta, at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Gupta, who hails from J&K, described the recognition as a “dream come true” and a matter of immense pride for the region. “This is a lifetime achievement. I’ve worked tirelessly to make learning joyful and holistic, using experimental teaching methods to better engage students. I sincerely thank the government for this recognition,” he said.
The award ceremony honoured teachers from metros, towns, and remote villages, reflecting their diverse contributions to transforming classrooms and impacting student learning. President Murmu lauded the educators for preparing the next generation to become capable and responsible citizens. She also stressed that investment in girls’ education was one of the most powerful investments for the progress of families, society, and the nation.
This year’s awardees included 24 men and 21 women, selected through a rigorous three-stage process for their innovation and impact on education.
The recognition of a Jammu teacher at the national platform has been welcomed in the region as a proud moment, highlighting the role of educators from J&K in shaping the future of the country.
