Jammu, Apr 20: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the bus accident in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a message shared on social media, the President described the incident as tragic and extended her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. She also wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the mishap.
At least 21 people were killed and several others sustained injuries after a passenger bus met with an accident near the Jalo area along the Ramnagar–Udhampur route.
Officials said the mishap occurred around 10 a.m. when the vehicle was negotiating a sharp curve near Kagort village in the Ramnagar area and subsequently lost control before plunging into a gorge.
