Jammu: In a major action against the narcotics trade, Udhampur Police have attached immovable and movable property worth around ₹1.10 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler, Sheikh Imran, son of Sheikh Mohammad Younas, a resident of Ward No. 1, TCP Domail, Udhampur.
The attachment, made under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, follows investigations into FIR No. 230/2025 registered under Sections 8/21/22 of the Act at Police Station Udhampur.
During the probe, it was found that Imran had amassed substantial assets from the proceeds of narcotics trafficking. The attached properties include two residential houses constructed on land bearing Khasra No. 180/162 and a Scooty (registration number JK14G-8025).
Police said the investigating officer, having reasonable grounds to believe that the assets were purchased through illicit drug trade money, proceeded with the attachment under due legal provisions.
So far this year, Udhampur Police have attached properties worth ₹8.30 crore in NDPS-related cases, reaffirming their commitment to making the district drug-free.
