NEW DELHI, July 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the government has taken strong measures to prevent incidents like the NEET-UG paper leak from recurring and has called for the strictest possible punishment for those responsible, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament Annexe after the NDA’s ‘Mangal Milan’ programme, Rijiju said the Prime Minister noted that the government acted immediately after reports of the NEET-UG paper leak surfaced and stressed that those who attempted to play with the future of students must face the harshest legal action.

Rijiju said 13 accused have been sent to jail in connection with the paper leak case. He added that the government ensured the NEET-UG re-examination was conducted successfully, and the results were declared promptly so that students did not have to face unnecessary delays.

According to the Union Minister, Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of students and maintaining the integrity of competitive examinations. He also emphasized that strict measures have been put in place to prevent such incidents in the future and that there will be zero tolerance for anyone trying to compromise the future of the country’s youth.
