Jammu: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has reconstituted various committees to ensure the effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Urban 2.0 across the Union Territory.
As per Government Order No. 418-JK(GAD) of 2025, the administration has approved the reconstitution of the Union Territory Level Sanctioning & Monitoring Committee, the Union Territory Level Appraisal Committee, District Level Committees, and new Municipal Corporation, ULB, Cantonment Board, and Planning Area Committees.
The Union Territory Level Sanctioning & Monitoring Committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary of J&K, will approve Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), review progress, and ensure quality monitoring under PMAY-Urban 2.0. The Union Territory Level Appraisal Committee will examine DPRs before final approval, assessing feasibility, cost estimates, and beneficiary selection.
District Level Committees, chaired by the respective District Development Commissioners, will oversee the monthly progress of the scheme, verify applications submitted via the Unified Web Portal of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), and ensure beneficiaries meet eligibility criteria.
Municipal Corporation, ULB, Cantonment Board, and Planning Area Committees will conduct housing demand assessments, validate applications, and ensure that families already benefiting from other housing schemes are not included under PMAY-Urban 2.0. These committees will also ensure that beneficiaries whose applications were curtailed after December 31, 2023, are not re-sanctioned.
