24 Strikes, 9 Terror Camps, over 70 terrorists Killed
MAY 7: More than hard-hitting blow to Pakistan post Pahalgam bloodshed came in predawn of May 7, 2025 as Indian forces avenged killing of 26 innocent civilians with 25 minutes of unleashing 24 missiles at 9 terror camps neutralizing over 70 terrorists.
What is “Operation Sindoor”?
‘Sindoor’ in Indian culture signifies long life of husband of a female. It is red power that is put on the forehead of woman implying the long life of her husband. Since only males were killed by terrorists in Pahalgam, the “Operation Sindoor” means revenge by those females whose husbands have been killed in that massacre.
How did “Operation Sindoor” happen?
The strikes, were carried out by Indian Army and Indian Air Force under the codename “Operation Sindoor” which lasted from 1:05 AM to 1:30 AM on May 7, 2025 with 24 missiles at 9 terror camps Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Bahawalpur, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwa killing over 70 terrorists.
ARMY BRIEFING
It has been first time in the history of India that women officers took the lead in giving the overview of predawn strike.

“Terror targets were choosen after deep scrutiny and credible inputs; no military installation was targeted in Pakistan during ‘Operation Sindoor’,” Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said.
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said, “India has restrained considerably during last several ceasefire violations but Indian Armed Forces are fully prepared to respond to Pakistan.”
REACTIONS
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on the heels of India’s strike, posted on X “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” which was a revert and is mostly used by hardcore Hindu Fundamentalists. He was the first Union Minister to Tweet about it.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, prominent spiritual leader, who has always been advocate of peace and placidity also hailed India’s strike and said terrorism must be dealt with Iron Hand.
Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak posted on X, “No nation should have to accept terrorist attacks being launched against it from land controlled by another country. India is justified in striking terrorist infrastructure. There can be no impunity for terrorists.”
Jaish-e-Mohammad Chief Maulana Masood Azhar claimed 10 members of his family and 4 aides died in “Operation Sindoor” adding he should have been included in these 14 guests of Allah who according to him become martyrs today.
Himanshi Narwal, wife of late Navy officer Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was killed by terrorists in Pahalgam urged Central Government not to end the operation and ensure it is the beginning to root out terrorism.
Other Events:
Earlier in the morning, Pakistan resorted to cross-border shelling by targeting the civilians residing near the Line of Control (LoC) J&K, killing at least 12 people and leaving over 40 injured.
