Since, Ramban and Udhampur witnessed heavy rainfall that have triggered landslides at National Highway, the traffic movement has been suspended in this regard.
Moreover, in view of the snow accumulation, the Mughal Road, SSG Road, and Sinthan Top also continue to remain closed.
It is learnt that the high-altitude areas in J&K experienced fresh snowfall, while the plains were battered relentless downpour overnight, leading to significant dip in the mercury.
Besides, the administration has pressed road clearance agencies in action to make the road smooth for traffic movement.
The traffic on NH-44 had been plying smoothly from Srinagar and Jammu in view of the ongoing repair work after the road suffered heavy damage following torrential rains wreaking havoc in August-September.
Upper reaches of Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts in the Jammu region also received fresh snowfall. MeT Department has forecast improvement in the overall weather from Wednesday until next fortnight.
Notably, the commuters have been advised to avoid travel on these routes until the roads are fully restored for movement.
