Pegasus Row: Jammu Police foils Congress march to Raj Bhawan

Jammu: Police on Thursday foiled an attempt by the Congress leaders to take out a protest march towards the Raj Bhawan here over the Pegasus Row.
The Congress party also sought the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Supreme Court-monitored high level investigation into the alleged phone tapping episode.
A large number of senior leaders and activists of Congress staged protest and also took out a march towards the Raj Bhawan from the party's headquarters, seeking the Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the 'phone snooping issue' and demanding the resignation of Home Minister.
A large number of Congress leaders and activists carrying party flags and placards raised slogans against the Centre while marching towards the Raj Bhawan.
A heavy contingent of police prevented the protestors from marching towards the Raj Bhawan.
They raised slogans in favour of their demands besides in favour of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and denouncing the BJP and the Centre for the alleged telephone snooping of top Opposition leaders, Constitutional functionaries, journalists, lawyers and other important public figures in the country.
Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma said that Congress is fighting for the protection of the Constitution, Fundamental Right to Privacy of every citizen and above all the issue of national security involved in the episode.
