Anantnag, May 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police have filed a case against the wife and son of Anantnag MLA Peerzada Mohammad Syed for allegedly locking a government health facility, officials said on Wednesday.
According to officials, an FIR was lodged at Achabal Police Station after the incident took place in the Damhal Khosipora area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The duo is accused of shutting the premises of a functioning health centre.
The building where the facility operates is said to belong to the MLA’s family and was given for use as a primary health centre in 2008.
Family sources, however, stated that earlier this year the MLA had approached the Chief Medical Officer of Anantnag, requesting that the health centre be shifted, citing the poor and unsafe condition of the structure.
