SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 07: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election departments, Javid Ahmad Dar, attended the virtual meeting on the advance release of the 21st instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kissan).

The meeting was chaired by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions,  Dr.Jitendra Singh.

The Union Minister released advance 21st instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to all eligible farmers, including those in Jammu and Kashmir. Approximately 8.55 lakh beneficiaries from J&K will benefit from this initiative.

The Union Minister also announced assistance of rupees 1.40 lakh for damaged houses with additional ₹30,000 for each households, making it a total of ₹1.70 lakhs.

He further said that the timely release of funds will likely provide much-needed relief to farmers in J&K, enabling them to revive their agricultural activities and rebuild their livelihoods. He added that the collaboration between the J&K and central governments demonstrates their commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and promoting the overall development of J&K.

Javid Dar requested the Union Minister to provide a special package for Jammu and Kashmir to address the unique challenges and requirements of the region, particularly in the agriculture sector, as previously discussed during the visit of Union Minister in Jammu.

Additional Chief Secretary, APD, Shailendra Kumar; Secretary Technical APD, G A Sofi; Director Agriculture Kashmir, Sartaj Ahmad Shah and other officers were also present in the meeting.
