MHA shuffles 49 IAS, IPS officers; 7 moved out of J&K, 9 posted in UT

JAMMU: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has ordered a major reshuffle of All India Services officers, transferring several IAS and IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre with immediate effect.

The latest round of transfers has brought significant changes in the administrative and policing setup of the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

As per the MHA order, six IAS officers and three IPS officers have been posted to Jammu and Kashmir from various AGMUT regions.

The IAS officers transferred to Jammu and Kashmir include Ashwani Kumar (1992 batch) from Delhi, R. Alice Vaz (2005 batch) from Delhi, Anjali Sehrawat (2013 batch) from Delhi, Sagar D. Dattatray (2014 batch) from Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Akriti Sagar (2016 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh, and Kumar Abhishek (2016 batch) from Delhi.

Among IPS officers, Prashant Priya Gautam has been transferred from Delhi, Sudhanshu Dhama (2016 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh, and Sunny Gupta (2020 batch) from Andaman and Nicobar Islands to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The MHA order also lists the transfer of five IAS officers and two IPS officers out of Jammu and Kashmir. IAS officers moved out include Santosh D. Vaidya (1998 batch) and Niraj Kumar (2010 batch), both transferred to Delhi; Syed Abid Rashid Shah (2012 batch) to Chandigarh; Baseer-ul-Haq Chaudhary (2015 batch) to the Union Territory of Ladakh; and Saloni Rai (2016 batch) to Delhi.

In the IPS cadre, Rajinder Kumar Gupta has been transferred from Jammu and Kashmir to Puducherry, while Shobhit D. Saksena (2015 batch) has been posted to Delhi.

The reshuffle has also affected the Union Territory of Ladakh, with several officers being transferred out.

IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar (1994 batch) has been moved from Ladakh to Delhi, while Michael M. D’Souza (2015 batch) has been transferred to Goa. Shruti Arora (2018 batch) has also been shifted from Ladakh to Goa.

Meanwhile, IAS officer Shurbir Singh (2004 batch) has been transferred from Delhi to the Union Territory of Ladakh as part of the latest postings.

The MHA stated that all transfers have been ordered with the approval of the competent authority and will remain in force until further orders.
