KISHTWAR, JULY 25: Sunil Sharma, MLA Padder-Nagseni and Leader of Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly, today visited the revered shrine of Machail Mata in Gulabgarh, Padder, on the inaugural day of the annual Machail Mata Yatra. Amidst spiritual fervor and devotion, Sharma offered prayers at the holy shrine and sought blessings from the Divine Mother for enduring peace, prosperity, and well-being across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to media persons after paying his obeisance, Sharma underlined the significance of Machail Mata Yatra, which draws lakhs of devotees from across the country. He noted that despite the growing number of pilgrims, many still face significant difficulties due to poor road connectivity and inadequate infrastructure. Reiterating his commitment as a public representative, he said, “I have constantly worked towards enhancing the basic facilities in this remote and sacred region to ensure a smoother and more comfortable journey for the pilgrims.”

He highlighted the recent developments undertaken in the area, including improved road connectivity, better electricity supply, installation of mobile towers for communication, and enhanced civic amenities. He assured that further efforts will be made to upgrade the infrastructure in and around the shrine for the benefit of devotees and local residents alike.

Sharma also made an emotional appeal to people from across the Union Territory and the country to visit the holy shrine of Machail Mata and experience the divine energy and spiritual serenity it offers.

Prominent government officials including IG Jammu, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, DC Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar, and other senior officers were also present during the occasion, marking the beginning of the sacred yatra with administrative coordination and devotion.
