Jammu: A comprehensive Advance Security Liaison (ASL) meeting was held on Wednesday at the Auditorium of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu to review arrangements for the inauguration of the 73rd Annual Conference of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (APM) and the Indian Academy of Pathology, Indian Division (IAPID) — APCON 2025 which is learned to be inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha today at around 5:00 PM.
The meeting was chaired by DySP SSF Arvind Kumar, with participation from senior officials including Dr. Jyotsna Suri (HOD), DySP Traffic Ashwani Sharma, DySP Security Basanti Bhat, Dr. Virender Trisal, Medical Superintendent GMC Jammu, Zakir Hussain, DFO Fire Services, Inspector Bihari Lal, CID SB, I/C PP GMC PSI Tanvinder Singh, Magistrate Naib Tehsildar Bitty Singh and SO CID CI Vishal Bhat.
Threadbare discussions were held on VVIP movement, access control, crowd management, emergency response and technical preparedness.
The prestigious academic event, scheduled to take place from December 3 to 7, 2025, is expected to draw nearly 1,000 national and international delegates, including renowned experts, scholars, researchers and medical professionals from across the globe.
The conference will focus on recent advancements in pathology, diagnostic innovation, molecular research and clinical practices, providing a platform for exchange of knowledge and collaborative research.
Extensive arrangements have been made by the GMC Jammu administration and organisers ahead of the VVIP visit. Security agencies have also tightened measures in and around the venue to ensure smooth conduct of the inaugural ceremony.
APCON is regarded as one of the most significant annual gatherings in the field of pathology in India, and its hosting in Jammu is seen as a milestone for the Union Territory’s medical and academic landscape.
