Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir has achieved 98.30 per cent e-KYC and face authentication among active eligible beneficiaries registered for Take-Home Ration(THR) under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0. The UT’s performance exceeds the national average of 97.87 per cent, according to the Centre.
As per data from the Ministry of Women and Child Development for June 2026 placed before the House, Jammu and Kashmir had 4,38,600 active eligible THR beneficiaries, of whom 4,31,159 had completed e-KYC and face matching. The figures indicate that 7,441 beneficiaries had not completed the process.
Ladakh recorded 98.20 per cent compliance, with 9,443 of its 9,616 active eligible THR beneficiaries completing e-KYC and face matching. At the national level, 4.37 crore active eligible THR beneficiaries were registered, of whom 4.28 crore, or 97.87 per cent, had completed e-KYC and face matching as of June 2026.
The data further says said compliance across the country had increased substantially over the past year, rising from 70.82 per cent in July 2025 to 97.87 per cent in June 2026. Responding to questions on beneficiaries facing difficulties due to technical issues, the Ministry said the Poshan Tracker application has been designed with offline functionality to enable e-KYC and face matching even in areas with low or no internet connectivity. Data entered offline can be synchronised within five days.
The Government said an OTP for e-KYC and Aadhaar face matching is required only once during the entire lifecycle of a beneficiary, which it said facilitates access to Anganwadi services even during network or server-related disruptions.
To ensure continued access to Take-Home Ration, the Ministry has also introduced a Nominee Module for pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls. Under the system, a registered beneficiary unable to visit an Anganwadi Centre for THR collection through the Facial Recognition System can nominate another person to receive the ration on her behalf.
The Ministry said Anganwadi Workers, Block Coordinators and Supervisors have been equipped with smartphones for entering service data and monitoring programmes in the field.
It added that continuous training and handholding support was being provided to Anganwadi Workers through learning videos, awareness material, cascading training programmes and on-ground technical assistance. Daily virtual classroom sessions are also conducted from Monday to Friday for Anganwadi Workers and State officials to address operational and implementation-related issues.
The Ministry, however, did not provide State/UT-wise figures on beneficiaries whose e-KYC was pending, failed or could not be completed due to technical issues, nor did it furnish year-wise data since 2019 on beneficiaries whose access to supplementary nutrition was delayed or denied specifically because of Poshan Tracker-related problems. Instead, it outlined the digital and administrative measures being taken to minimise such disruptions.
