APRIL 8: Following the massive uproar in Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, the house was adjourned for half an hour on Tuesday.
This came in light vis-a-vis disallowance of adjournment motion to discuss Waqf Bill. Scores of MLAs of National Conference stood in solidarity against the Waqf Amendment Bill and were Congress and PDP MLAs.
As the Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather began the Question Hour, the NC, Congress and PDP MLAs reached to the well and began raising slogans against the Waqf Bill. In the course of slogans, PDP MLA Waheed Parra pressed a resolution which was outrightly rejected by the speaker.
Later Parra was marshalled out as per the order of Speaker. The House was adjourned yesterday owing to same disruptions.
It is learnt that these agitations in the House reflect the the growing resentment towards Waqf Amendment Bill.
