JAMMU, July 25: Escorted by CRPF and J&K Police personnel, a fresh batch of over 2,800 pilgrims left from Bhagwati Base Camp in Jammu for the holy Amarnath shrine nestled in South Kashmir’s Himalayas on Friday.
With the faith and profound devotion of pilgrims exceeding in ice-lingam at Amarnath Shrine, the current 23rd batch of 2,896 pilgrims, including 2,505 men and 314 women, departed Jammu for twin Base routes of Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal district.
Amid the chants of “Har Har Mahadev”, the pilgrims departed were witnessed brimmed with religious fervour and spiritual serenity.
Pertinent to mention, that the yatra was flagged off by LG Manoj Sinha from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu on July 2, 2025.
As of now, over 3.5 lakh devotees have visited Baba Barfani and in the previous year over 5.10 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine.
It is learnt that the pilgrimage is scheduled to culminate on August 9.
