JUNE 7: J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that it is quite unfortunate that the Government forbids prayers at historic Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.
CM Omar said, “At a time when Eid is celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety across the nation, however, prayers are not allowed in Jamia Masjid of Srinagar.”
He added, “I don’t know that these decisions are taken on what ground but one day we have to trust our people as they are the same people who severely reprimanded Pahalgam attack.”
CM Omar Abdullah flanked by NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah and his sons offered prayers at reverred Hazratbal Shrine.
Speaking to the media, Omar Abdullah extended heartiest greetings to people on Eid-ul Adha.
