Says days of silent tolerance toward terrorism are over
Jammu, July 3: “India will continue to lead the charge against terror with global partners standing in solidarity. The days of silent tolerance toward terrorism are over,” declared Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, while welcoming the strong message issued by the Quad grouping over the recent Pahalgam terror attack.
Kavinder was responding to the joint statement released by the Quad foreign ministers — from India, the United States, Australia, and Japan — during their meeting in Washington, which unequivocally condemned the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The statement called for the perpetrators, organisers, and financiers of the attack to be brought to justice without delay, urging all UN member states to cooperate in line with international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
Kavinder Gupta said that this unified stance by Quad nations is a clear message to terror sponsors across the globe that the international community will no longer remain a mute spectator. He appreciated the strong intervention of External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, who effectively conveyed India’s unwavering position on terrorism and cross-border threats.
“When the Government of India is committed to wiping out terrorism from its roots, global partners stepping up to echo that voice strengthens our resolve manifold,” he said. He emphasized that terrorist attacks like the one in Pahalgam are not isolated incidents but part of a larger proxy war being waged against peace and democracy, especially in Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior BJP leader also stressed the need for strict global accountability mechanisms to isolate nations that provide safe havens and funding to terror networks. “The Quad’s call for justice must now be followed by concrete diplomatic and economic actions against rogue elements,” he added.
Kavinder expressed hope that the upcoming Quad Summit in India later this year will further cement strategic cooperation, not just against terrorism but also in areas like maritime security, supply chain resilience, and regional stability.
“The world must recognize that terrorism anywhere is a threat to peace everywhere. India’s stand is clear — we will neither forget nor forgive acts of terror, and now, the world seems ready to stand with us,” he added.
