Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha appealed to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to lead the transformational journey of the region and contribute to nation-building.

While interacting with NCC cadets who had recently returned from the Republic Day Camp in New Delhi, the Lieutenant Governor stated that the youth are the torchbearers of progress and driving force behind a brighter future for J&K.

The youth are our hope for a better world and a stronger J&K. They have a great responsibility to carry forward the ideals and values of our ancient civilization while working towards peace, progress, and constructive social change,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

He added that the NCC was important because it instilled discipline, leadership, and patriotism in young minds-helping in nation building.

The cadets of J&K and Ladakh NCC Directorate shared their enriching experiences from the Republic Day Camp, where they showed exemplary skills and discipline.

LG Sinha congratulated SUO Ekta Kumari for making J&K proud by leading the All India NCC Girls Contingent during the Republic Day Parade. He also lauded JUO Abida Afreen, who received the prestigious Raksha Mantri Commendation Card and is set to scale Mt. Everest later this year.

Lieutenant Governor appealed to the NCC cadets to work towards five key resolutions: rapid development of J&K, quality of life for citizens, social units dedicated to nation-building, inspiring constructive social change, and participation of every section of society in the region’s development.

During the event, the Lieutenant Governor felicitated the cadets with Certificates of Excellence for their significant contributions. The vibrant cultural performances by the NCC cadets, symbolizing India’s unity in diversity, received special appreciation from LG Sinha.

Maj Gen A. Bevli, VSM, Additional Director General of J&K and Ladakh NCC Directorate, presented a memento to the Lieutenant Governor as a token of gratitude for his continuous support to NCC initiatives. Senior officers, instructors, and officials from the School Education Department and Raj Bhawan also graced the occasion.

The contingent of J&K and Ladakh NCC Directorate at this year’s Republic Day parade, as a whole, consisted of 127 cadets. From them, 17 cadets were selected to parade on Kartavya Path, five for the Guard of Honour, and eight of the contingent for DG NCC Medallions for outstanding performances by Col Amit Bhardwaj and Nb Sub Yashbir Singh.

Reiterating his vision for J&K’s progress, the Lieutenant Governor encouraged the youth to harness their potential and lead the transformation of the Union Territory through innovation, dedication, and national service.
