AUG 13: The full dress rehearsal for the 79th Independence Day was held on Wednesday at M.A. Stadium Jammu with patriotic fervour and gaiety.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Jammu Rakesh Minhas took salute at the march past and hoisted the Indian Flag.
In the rehearsals, the parade featured contingents of Army, BSF, CRPF, JKP, NCC cadets, J&K Fire & Emergency Services, and students of various schools.
Pipe and brass bands from BSF, J&K Police, Army, and school students played tunes during the march past.
Furthermore, school children and artists from the J&K Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages presented scintillating performances, outlining patriotric themes, cultural traditions and social issues.
On the occasion, DC Rakesh Minhas said that the security and other arrangements are in place for the upcoming Independence Day. He added that the full dress rehearsal was up to the mark and main function will be spectacular.
DC Minhas made a strong pitch to commemorate the freedom fighters who by unrelenting and unwavering efforts made the nation free from British rule in 1947.
