Jammu: In a significant administrative move, the Jammu and Kashmir Government, through the Health and Medical Education Department, has ordered the transfer and posting of several doctors with immediate effect, aiming to enhance patient care and improve administration in the health services sector.
The order, issued under Government Order No. 160-JK (HME) of 2025, includes a number of key postings and responsibilities for the medical professionals. Dr. Kiran Kailu has been assigned as the In-charge State Venereologist in Jammu, and Dr. Arun Sharma has been posted as the In-charge BMO for Kalakote. Similarly, other doctors have been posted to various health facilities across the region, including Dr. Iqbal Malik to Nowshera, Dr. Gurdeep Singh to Kishtwar, and Dr. Sham Lal to Padder, among others.
Notably, the order emphasizes that these postings are temporary and are subject to any pending writ petitions in the court. The government has stipulated that the transfers are essential for the immediate and effective functioning of health services, and the transferees are expected to join their new postings without delay.
The Health Department has directed all Heads of Departments (HoDs) to submit compliance reports regarding the joining of the transferees by February 21, 2025, to ensure smooth operations across the healthcare system.
